No a deposit is not required.
We offer a grace period of five days past the due date for payments. After that, a late fee will be applied to your account. If you are unable to make a payment, please contact our office to discuss your options. If you don't speak to us we can't help you . We can assure you that if you are having problems with payments solutions can and will be found to suit us both.
Yes we require all customers to take out there own storage insurance. We can put you in touch with storage insurance providers the moment you book your unit. It's not too expensive the two variables are the valuation of goods and length of time the contents of the unit are stored. We can help you with getting quotes for your belongings as well.
We provide padlocks free of charge to all of our outdoor units and on request we can supply them for the indoor units as well. If we have to replace a padlock or lock boxes there may be charges to replace the lock or lock boxes.
Our storage units do not get damp or condensation. Our outdoor units are lined to prevent any condensation build up. We can also provide Condensation catchers in the unit. We do find though they don't gather much if any build up in the unit but for peace of mind these can be provided
There are number of things you we recommend you do when storing your belongings long term or short term. Dust sheets are great for keeping dust off of your furnishings like couches and arm chairs. They are also great for covering up electronics as well like video games consoles televisions.
For the storing bed mattresses we recommend mattress covers as well.
Non Domestic Rates have been applied to storage units as of 1st April 2023 from the Scottish Government. This means that you the customer who occupies the unit will get a non domestic rates bill from North Lanarkshire Council for there storage unit. You will also be able to apply for 100% Relief from the bill meaning you won't have to pay it but there is a form to fill in and send back which we can and are more than happy to help all of our customers with. Once they have received the form you will get a new bill with Nil on it.
We urge all of our customers to contact North Lanarkshire Council as soon as thy Receive there Non Domestic Rates bill to ensure that the process for getting the relief is started immediately without delay.
In most cases most of our customers have not had to pay non domestic rates. However if you have a business premises you have non domestic rates for then depending on the rateable value of the business rates you currenlyly pay then you may have a rates blll for your storage unit.
We don't provide this service but we have formed some great working relationships with highly reputable removal companies who we can give you details of so you can book them for your big move.
